Waiver Rules

Waiver Claiming Period:  August 11th – August 31st (as Aug 31st turns into Sept 1st).
Posting Window:  August 11th – August 28th (to allow for 3 days after posting)

  1. An owner places a player (or players) on waivers during the waiver period using an email to the entire league.

  2. Once a player is posted on waivers, a 3-day waiver period begins.

  3. If you wish to claim a player, you must submit an email to the posting owner AND to me before the end of the 3-day period.  This will ensure that the posting owner is notified and I am as well for double confirmation.  Once, an owner misspelled another’s email and it caused confusion.  Just remember to send the email to the posting owner AND to me.

  4. If I have not yet made a claim on a player I wished to claim before someone else does, I will recuse myself out of fairness.  (But let’s be honest, I don’t usually have picks to gamble anyway).

  5. Do not ask me if a player has been claimed.  I won’t tell you.

  6. At the end of the 3-day clock, I will notify the league of the successful claim.  If no such email is sent out for a player, that means the waiver period expired and no claim was made.

  7. The waiver winner will be declared based on the standings at the time the player was posted (any standings changes that might occur between when the player is posted and when the winning claim is given are ignored).

  8. Players that go unclaimed during a 3-day waiver period can be posted on waivers again during the Aug 11-Aug 28 posting window.

  9. Owners of winning waiver claims will forfeit their lowest remaining pick in the subsequent preseason draft. That pick will be vacated and all picks in the draft after the vacated pick will move up one slot.  If the claiming owner does not have their 5th pick, they will lose their 4th pick, or their 3rd pick, and so on until we reach their latest preseason pick.

  10. Owners of players lost during the waiver period will be given compensation picks at the end of the upcoming preseason draft. If multiple players are lost in waivers, owners names will be drawn at random to establish the compensation pick order. This will result the same total amount of draft picks (60).

  11. Once a player is placed on waivers, you cannot revoke them in that 3-day window.  So choose your players wisely.  Don’t – for example – place all your backup catchers on waivers…because if they’re all claimed, you’re in trouble.
